Dalby is a thriving hub just 80 kilometres from Toowoomba and 200 kilometres from Brisbane along the Warrego Highway. Also, Dalby connects up from Moonie and Bunya Highways as well.
Dalby is part of a Western Downs region from the east ,and has a rich history from art to culture and heritage.
Bunya mountains is a national park that is only about a half hour drive from Dalby. As you drive higher up the mountain, you can notice the temperature difference and the rain forests are so beautiful and picturesque. There are many rainforest tracks to choose from on the Bunya mountains and the lookout is spectacular.
Lake Broadwater is a naturally occurring fresh water lake where you can go camping and boating. It has a large area where you can relax with the family. A large population of waterbirds of various types can be seen and there are BBQ’S on site.
Jimbour House is a heritage listed homestead on one of the earliest stations established on the Darling Downs in Queensland. A very historic place to visit as it has original buildings , some restored and some being restored and an amazing collection of farm equipment that dates back to around the beginning their farming to recent times. Jimbour is a great place to bring the family or for people who love history.
Dalby museum Pioneer Park has probably got one of the oldest collections of farm machinery in Australia. Open on selected days so check their website for opening times. If you love old machinery then you’ll love Dalby Museum Pioneer Park.
Dalby has major stores for shopping such as Coles , Woolworths , Aldi , SuperCheap Auto , Big W and a large shopping centre. The main street is Cunningham Street and there are many shops on both sides.
